Básbuisteir is a Free Magic creature who excels at shapeshifting though one might hardly realize it. His typical form is that of a large, eldritch wolf-like creature with gray fur and too many sharp teeth in its long maw. It has two vividly blue glowing eyes, or sometimes it has four, and yet other times it appears to have gaping black holes where eyes should have been, or more all over. It appears quadrupedal and runs swiftly on all fours but often times its front claws curl and grasp like sharp hands and if need be he will stand on two legs when there's some benefit to it and move just as easily as a bipedal creature.
Rarely, it takes on the appearance of a mild looking human male to blend into crowds and stalk its prey stealthily but this form has not been seen for some time. Out in the Wilds, there's hardly ever any reason for him to utilize it. He simply goes where he pleases and hunts as much as he wishes.
However, while taking that form he is more likely to utilize his secondary magic (if shapeshifting is considered his first and foremost magical ability then this is his second and the rest is all simply tertiary and forgotten until needed). His favorite is to conjure weapons that fight alongside him. Swords, knives, and the occasional crossbow that hovers near his form until it darts out swiftly to attack his foe. He has a slight preference for ice when it comes to elemental magics. He hardly ever uses it, or any other magic that his nature grants him simply by existing. He prefers to get his hands dirty.
His weaknesses tend to be more mental than physical--he believes himself untouchable due to the fact that no known earthly material can truly harm him, or so he claims. However, strong Charter Magic could be used to bind him and he has been known to make deals with necromancers for use of his power out of amusement for the audacity. However, if one wants to distract him long enough to escape setting his course fur on fire would do the trick as he seems to have no affinity for the element.
Additional note: while his voice does take on a slightly eldritchrevibrato quality while in his main wolf-like form, overall the sound of his voice remains the same and vaguely recognizable to anyone who has spent enough time around him. And more obviously his accent and speech patterns remain the same despite his overboard changes. If confronted about it, he might mention a small area in the Old Kingdom where the locals had this quaint little accent that he picked up before he killed most of the residents there.
