Information for Deep Waters Event End -- the Chase and the Battle
Despite what Collins snidely told his warden, the Butcher would definitely get involved with the end scenario. How could he miss such an opportunity.
The Chase
Collins was making a nuisance of himself during this phase. He's sly, he's sneaky, he knows how to create chaos without getting caught. He probably helped distract Narrenschiff loyalists from defending the ship or making repairs while also causing as much damage to the ship as possible. He was very discreet. Or else very much made certain others were larger targets them him when he was more open and direct. He was probably helping out with starting fires and things of that nature. He didn't seem to care who gets hurt if they were in the way.
His motives were mostly: he loves to fuck shit up and he doesn't like any of these "entities" much less the Cap'n over the Admiral. He hates them both equally. Equal opportunity hater here.
The Battle
Much as before, Collins didn't care who got hurt or killed during the first part of the battle phase. Things are much more open warfare now here and within all the chaos he really didn't mind so much if his bullets hit a few Barge passengers along with the Narrenschiff people. Sorry, not at all sorry.
Eventually, however, John metaphorically knocked some sense into the Butcher and reminded him that even if he didn't like the Barge, he did stand a better chance at getting his revenge with it. He reluctantly began to be more careful with his attacks. Collins probably got to take out some zombies and killed any less powerhouse hitting opponents, but uh I'm not worried about his kill count obviously. He helped do damage or whatever. He's a basic human, and while his luck does seem uncanny sometimes and he has survived some cosmic horrors over the years, he's still just a squishy normal guy. He can only do so much.
But he did enjoy himself! Everyone probably heard some out-of-place singing during the fight at some point--that was the Butcher having fun.
If he still needed to kick Trevor's ass into gear, he maybe did a bit of that. Rallying the lad to help fight or at least defend and do something. If he's had a nice moment with your character at any point he might have taken a few minutes to fight alongside them or help them get out of trouble if needed.
Then Aerith got wounded. I'd like to imagine he was somewhere nearby at the time because that was his one Thing this whole event (look after Aerith, have to finish the job, etc etc) and while he was having a good time things got too heated. So he eventually would have noticed Hela got too close and then Aerith was majorly wounded. Thankfully Vincent got her to safety and that's probably what he saw when he finally noticed her healing and spells weren't visible anymore. Buuuut it meant that Collins was Not Happy and he went a little berserk. Because, again, he's a bit normal, he probably got a little careless and either got injured or knocked unconscious himself after that. I don't want to make it too official so not looking for volunteers or anything, because I want to focus on the aftermath with Collins and not make him backslide with too large a feeling of failure. It's already going to be rough on him as it is due to Aerith's fall during battle.
Whether he stayed on the Narrenschiff the whole time or was reluctantly dragged to the Barge before the very end, I'm not hundred percent on. He may have limped his way to the infirmary on the Barge to settle in and look after Aerith even if she was being sorta hidden for the time being. He wouldn't make himself a nuisance there if so though. More like playing extra guard hound even though the infirmary already has plenty of that going on already.
Later, he will absolutely bother her but that's another story for later. :>
